Contactless carsharing 24/7: remote unlock, fuel and odometer per trip

MyKeego Carsharing runs on the same connector that powers Drive, Agentic Fleet Manager and Workflows to deliver a fully contactless service: remote door unlock, fuel tracking and odometer reading on every trip, with no staff involved in vehicle handover.

Contactless carsharing 24/7: remote unlock, fuel and odometer per trip

Results

  • 125,000+ customers have already booked and driven a MyKeego Carsharing vehicle
  • 100% remote door open/close from the app, no physical keys
  • Per-trip fuel tracking via CAN bus, tied directly to the return policy
  • Per-trip mileage read via CAN bus and GPS — the same telemetry that feeds Drive and Agentic Fleet Manager

More than 125,000 people have already booked and driven a MyKeego Carsharing vehicle without talking to anyone: no office, no counter, no key handed over in person.

The challenge

A carsharing service running 24/7, with no staff at each parking spot, has to solve — without any human intervention — three things a rental employee normally handles: granting access to the vehicle, checking fuel level at pickup and return, and logging how far it was driven. Without that automated, a contactless service can't scale: every trip would depend on someone being physically present to unlock the car and inspect it.

The MyKeego solution

Carsharing doesn't run on separate technology — it uses the same connector (hardware and data layer) that powers MyKeego Drive, Agentic Fleet Manager and Workflows. Three capabilities of that same platform, applied to every trip:

  • Remote unlock and lock: the user opens and closes the vehicle from the app, no physical key, standing in front of the car at the Keego Point where it's parked.
  • Fuel: level is read via CAN bus at the start and end of the trip, and checked against the return policy — same level it was picked up with, or the customer pays for what was consumed, at a fair price.
  • Odometer and mileage: the same CAN bus and GPS telemetry that feeds Drive's driving ranking logs the kilometers driven on every trip, per vehicle.

It's the same data architecture, applied to a different use case: where a corporate fleet uses the connector to monitor its own drivers, Carsharing uses it to give access, control and traceability to users who never meet anyone from MyKeego in person.

One trip, end to end

  1. Book from the app: pick a vehicle, by the minute, hour or day.
  2. Unlock it at the Keego Point: walk up to where it's parked and open it by tapping a button in the app — no key, no waiting for anyone.
  3. Drive: the vehicle logs fuel and mileage in the background, using the same telemetry as Drive and Agentic Fleet Manager.
  4. Return and lock from the app: leave it at the same spot where you found it and close it from the app. Done.

No MyKeego staff is involved at any step of that trip.

More than a booking app

Carsharing is proof this platform isn't exclusive to corporate fleets: the same technology that centralizes CAN bus data, GPS and remote control for fleet and renting operations also powers a consumer-facing service running 24/7 at scale — 125,000+ customers so far. The connector is configured to fit whatever each operation needs: an owned fleet, third-party rental, or public carsharing, all on the same data and vehicle-control layer.
